The project consisted of the design and construction of superstructure replacements and minor substructure improvements for four bridges. The four bridges were all constructed in the 1960’s, and consisted of cast in place concrete decks supported by simple span steel beams on concrete abutments and piers.
The superstructures all exhibit significant deterioration and the substructures require minor patching and strengthening.
Middlesex Corporation replaced and repaired 3 bridges in East Hartford and one bridge in Willington for CT DOT including:
- I-84 WB (Exit 54 to Downtown Hartford) over I-84 EB in East Hartford( Bridge No. 02367)
- Route 2 WB (to Downtown Hartford) over I-84 EB in East Hartford (Bridge No. 02366)
- Route 2 EB (towards Norwich and New London) over I-84 in East Hartford (Bridge No.02369)
- Potter School Road over I-84 in Willington (Bridge No. 00847)
