Manager Learning and Development

Position Summary:

The Director of Learning and Development is responsible to develop, coordinate, present and evaluate organizational learning and development activities that align with corporate goals and values and support the predicted growth and innovation demands of the organization. The Director will also assist in other functional areas of human resources to include recruitment and performance management as directed.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinating all aspects of learning design and delivery including curriculum development, educational materials, facilities scheduling and setup, selecting subject matter experts, evaluating training resources and scheduling employees
• Establishing and monitoring the learning and development budget
• Assessing and prioritizing current and future organizational learning and development needs through surveys, interviews with team members, focus groups, and/or consultation with executive team
• Leading organizational learning and development interventions, including performance improvement through standardization
• Facilitating the organization’s utilization of technology to optimize productivity and efficiency, including e-learning and other technology-based methods
• Developing a standardized, comprehensive new hire orientation and on-boarding process
• Assisting executive team with individual staff learning and leadership development plans
• Managing the tracking of the continuing education and organizational learning and development programs for all employees including staff training plans
• Building a learning organization based on adult learning principles to support the predicted growth and innovation demands of the organization
• Identifying and tracking metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of the learning and development program
• Providing assistance to recruiting coordinator to identify high-quality candidates with emphasis on hard-to-fill positions
• Developing relationships to enhance the talent pipeline flow toward the organization

Qualifications:

• Degree in Adult Learning or Human Resource Development preferred
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in corporate training and development role
• General knowledge of heavy civil construction industry and the various craft and professional staff positions preferred
• Ability to effectively utilize each of the Microsoft Office Suite of programs
• Ability to utilize image and video editing programs
• Blended training experience including classroom, coaching, mentoring and technology based learning
