Orlando, FL — Middlesex Paving, LLC, a division of Massachusetts-based The Middlesex Corporation, implemented Virtual Shift Tickets (VST), a digital timecard tool that tracks time for all its company drivers. With VST the process of managing time tracking will be more efficient and accurate.

VST is replacing a dated manual, multi-person, paper & ink process, with an online, mobile option, which translates to a single-person task, and less time for drivers to manage their timesheets. VTS integrates with other technology providing additional benefits of consistency of procedures, reduction in time tracking steps, less margin for error, and ease of training.

VST also eliminates the need for driver logs. Traditionally, drivers can spend an average of minutes per shift filling out driver logs and timesheets. With VST, drivers can leverage the VST app and simply enter the ‘start’ and ‘stop’ when their assignment is complete, which in turn, makes the truck “available” for the next shift. VST also combats time theft by disallowing for early clock in times.

“Being able to make an important yet time heavy process more efficient is a great value,” said Mike Lapaluccio, Vice President, Paving. “Bringing technology into the paving industry benefits both our team members and our clients as it allows us time to focus more on work projects and less on day-to-day operational details.”
