Annual Massachusetts-based event supports local charities

Littleton, MA — The Middlesex Corporation presented a donation to New England Center and Home for Veterans (NECHV) President and CEO Andy McCawley.  The Middlesex donation was generated from the proceeds of its 8th annual Northeast region charitable golf tournament held in September. NECHV (www.nechv.org)  is a nonprofit organization that equips veterans who are at-risk of homelessness with the tools for economic self-sufficiency and provides a path to achieve successful and dignified independent living.

“Through their mission and for their work, Middlesex has long supported the goals of NECHV,” said Tom Donaruma, Director of Human Resources at Middlesex Corporation.  “There is a strong alignment of who serves and is served between our two organizations.  Middlesex is honored to provide additional resources to NECHV this year.”

In parallel to the NECHV donation, additional donations from the tournament went to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s Hike for Hope and the Middlesex Team Member Relief Fund to support team members and colleagues in need.

Middlesex team members, business partners, and other local vendors play in the 18-hole tournament; other Middlesex team members also volunteer their time to ensure the event runs smoothly.  In addition, the company also organizes a charitable golf tournament in its Southeast region; that event is held each spring in Florida.  Proceeds from the 2024 event were donated to Construction Angels.

Over the course of the past eight years, between the two tournaments, Middlesex has raised more than $350,000 for various local charities.
