Scope of Work
  • Widening I-75 from 4 to 6 lanes for 13 miles
  • Demolition of existing bridges and reconstruction of new bridges in phased construction using a temporary traffic crossover
  • Complete interchange reconstruction
  • Ramp reconstruction with milling and resurfacing
  • improvements at the interchange
Unique Challenges
  • Approved ATC eliminated guardrail in each direction and the difficult maintenance of the 1:2 side slopes
  • By adjusting the horizontal and vertical geometry of Ramp B, it reduced the complexity of the construction and the need to install a temporary ramp detour
  • Project required the utility relocations to be coordinated by the Design Build team
